A self-managed super fund buys as a single purchaser. You capture the fund, its corporate trustee and its members, then upload each member’s ID. Start the EOI as usual and choose SMSF on the purchase structure page. Prefer a printable version? Download the SMSF purchase guide (PDF).

Before you start

  • The fund’s name
  • The corporate trustee’s ACN or ABN and name
  • The SMSF deed if available (optional)
  • Each member’s name, email, mobile and date of birth
  • A clear photo of each member’s ID

The fund and its trustee

Enter the fund’s name, then the corporate trustee’s ACN or ABN. Check confirms the registration with the ABR and fills the trustee company for you. Attach the SMSF deed if the buyer has it. SMSF and trustee details

Who are the members of the fund?

Add the fund’s members. For a corporate-trustee SMSF, that’s the trustee company’s directors. One person per screen: fill them in and click Continue, and the list of members added so far appears, where Add another member starts the next one. Continue from the list moves the EOI on. Deal details and IDs

Details, finance, solicitor and broker work exactly as for individual buyers. The fund itself is never ID-verified: its members are. Upload the sighted ID for each member you added, one at a time, ticking the consent confirmation that they were given the privacy notice and agreed, then review and submit as usual. Every person’s ID must be on file before you can submit.
