A sourcing request is a structured brief that describes the buyer and what they are looking for, so your account manager’s team can find matching stock for you. It is not tied to a specific property.
Send a request from the portal
- Open General Enquiry in the portal navigation.
- Work through the steps: the enquiry stage and support you need, the buyer’s situation and budget, the property criteria, and any final details.
- Click Send request.
Your request lands with the team as an enquiry deal and appears in My Deals.
Not every portal shows General Enquiry. Your account manager turns it on for the portal, and it is always on for the Kenekt marketplace.
Send a request from an open link
Some teams email agents a link to the sourcing request form so agents can send a brief without signing in to the portal. The link looks like yourportal.com/enquire.
- Open the link you were emailed.
- On the About you step, enter your name, email and phone.
- Complete the same brief as above and click Send request.
- You will see a confirmation page and receive a receipt by email.
What happens to your request depends on the email you enter:
The link is open to anyone who has it. Each email address can send one request per hour, so if you need to correct something, reply to your receipt email rather than sending the brief again.
Turn on the open link (administrators)
The open link is off until an administrator switches it on for the portal.
- In the Kenekt app, open Portal Details and go to Page Options.
- Switch on Open sourcing link. The link appears next to the switch with a Copy button.
- Paste the link into your email to agents.
The link only activates once the agency has an owner, because requests from agents without an account are assigned to the owner. If the switch is on but no owner is set, Portal Details tells you so.
What the team sees
Every open-link request arrives on the enquiries board like any other sourcing request. Requests from agents without an account show the agent as an Agent contact on the deal, marked “via open link”, and the notification email carries the submitting agent’s details.
