A company buys as a single purchaser, so there are no Buyer pages. You capture the registration, add the people who own or control the company, and upload each person’s ID. Start the EOI as usual and choose Company on the purchase structure page. Prefer a printable version? Download the company purchase guide (PDF).

Before you start

  • The ACN or ABN and the registered company name
  • The ASIC Company Extract, if the buyer has it (optional)
  • Each owner’s and director’s name, email, mobile and date of birth
  • A clear photo of each person’s ID

The company’s registration

Enter the ACN or ABN and the legal entity name exactly as registered. Check confirms the registration with the ABR and fills the name for you. Attach the ASIC extract if available. Company registration details

Who owns or controls the company?

Add everyone who owns 25% or more, the directors, and the controllers, one person per screen. Fill in the person and click Continue: they are saved and the list of everyone added so far appears, where Add another owner starts the next one. Continue from the list moves the EOI on. Deal details and IDs

Details, finance, solicitor and broker work exactly as for individual buyers. Two differences:
  • Guarantors: if the company is borrowing, most lenders require a guarantor (often each director). Add them on the Finance step; guarantors are recorded for financing only and are never ID-verified.
  • IDs: the company itself is never ID-verified: its people are. Upload the sighted ID for each owner and director you added, one at a time, ticking the consent confirmation that they were given the privacy notice and agreed, then review and submit as usual. Every person’s ID must be on file before you can submit.
