Property image best practices

You will want great photos to showcase your properties. They need to be high enough resolution to be clear and good quality, but try to keep the file sizes under 5MB to ensure they load quickly for those viewing them.

We recommend a 4:3 ratio for images, a standard landscape format.  So a typical canvas could be 1920 x 1080 pixels.

If you resize your images you get the best control over how it is cropped, as opposed to our system doing it automatically.

If the photo you have is not in that proportion, you may be able to crop it to suit, but if the image is a portrait shape i.e. tall and narrow, there are 2 main ways to fix it, so that it can work in Kenekt:

  1. Add white space around the hero image
  2. Adding other smaller images to the right of the hero image.

Adding some internal pictures would be a great addition to the materials, if you have any.  You can then create a collage with 2 other small images to the right of the hero image, on a 4:3 canvas.  That brings the image into the right proportion.

To make something like this you create a 4:3 canvas in an image editing tool like Canva e.g. 1920 x 1080 pixels.  Then you can add photos on top of it, or centre the hero image and save it with white space around it.
